Media tactility (as a set of approaches)

As praxis, the media tactility employed in tactical media of resistance is a constantly evolving set of approaches, which at their base involve interaction between the conscious media tactician, media texts and their public(s) occurs via ‘institutionalised sites of display such as exhibitions or publication’ or incidentally as component of relational space in the media city thus enabling dialogue between groups and alliances between oppositional forces (Renzi, 2008:87; McQuire, 2008).

“This produces a circulation of ideas and work where pedagogical approaches and critical theory mix with the power of the imagination and breed a fertile ground to engage local cultures and politics. Ultimately, TM occasion a new space for theorising the relationship among tactics, and duration and that research should be regarded as an integral part of an ecology of power that is never neutral and where resistance is imminent, multiple and diffused” (Foucault, 1978 in Renzi, 2008:89).
